Technology@lemmy.world•Mullvad to patch VPN fingerprinting issue to stop your activity from being tracked across serversEnglish
16·2 days agoThey literally say that they don’t support streaming sites somewhere. Why even try? All those services are actively putting protections against vpns and fighting them as much as they can. A vpn service to support streaming sites needs to be constantly fighting and working on it.

It really should but it doesn’t.

Yes it never worked right. Specially in all shitty laptops with a discrete nvidia card and how they all had different ways to be integrated. At least for personal laptops I only buy ones with simple integrated graphics, but was always a shitty situation with work laptops. It was particularly fun knowing that the hdmi port was only connected to the nvidia card so if I disabled the nvidia card on the bios basic shit like that wouldn’t work. Let’s not even mention how it was constantly crashing for sleep or when waking up.
Read it multiple times and never noticed the typo.

15·22 days agoThey really believe that seniors will move to their slop based company after all the shit they dug themselves into. The heads of these ceos must be full of unicorn shit and rainbows.
Isn’t that just something that people do on movies or television?
Most people don’t have the ability or understand how to separate those 2 concepts. Asking too much from normal people that are just watching some entertainment.

Linux@programming.dev•Linux is Getting a New Default Folder in Your Home DirectoryEnglish
0·25 days agoOh, that’s what I do, you just have to customize it. I have media with images, music and videos inside.

Linux@programming.dev•Linux is Getting a New Default Folder in Your Home DirectoryEnglish
0·25 days agoI always change the defaults to another place and to have another naming. Just camel casing those folders is already stupidly annoying. I guess one more silly one into another folder out of view.
I already do the following:
- media with images, music and videos inside
- changes to small case for desktop and download
- change documents to docs
- create another folder called shares which I moved the public folder inside.
- hide the templates folder that nobody knows what is it for, so it becomes .templates
- no idea what the projects is supposed to be about, maybe I can map it to the already existing dev folder…

1·28 days agoI’m in europe. If you put a name that may seem a bit non standard they will fire that verification immediately. I think i tried hetzner before and same thing. On ovh was no problem for the little time I tried. Anyway they all always want full physical address and name and a bunch of personal details.
