  • The fucking balls on him. Acting like he is doing everyone a favor. He can ban who he wants from his instance, that’s how federation is supposed to work. What he did was add a secret shadowban list at a software level just to bypass the modlog and force it on everyone.

His behavior and response are ridiculous. We shouldn’t even be federating with anything using tesseract. The guy and his repo should become a pariah.

Oh I didn’t notice, I actually went through the last popular post and saved it from when it was posted on this comm a few weeks ago.

I’m guessing the link was probably in the post body but I didn’t think to paste it over, my mistake. I didn’t crop anything though but I should have included a link in any case.

Someone in the comments mentioned it’s Adam Ellis if you want to see more of his work.

Ahhh yes, I’m ignoring your point but you aren’t with your trite reply?

I addressed your point. You blame climate change and environmental damage on it while I’m saying that’s on lax environmental regulations and corrupt politicians. You’ve been convinced by the oil industry that the technology is deeply coupled with how power is generated and that it’s at fault ultimately. Obviously, look away from the constant bribes that are killing renewable projects, it’s the fault of software. Not the software you like and use everyday like streaming movies and videos though, the new one that the media tells you is bad.

In the end, it’s electricity. The only thing seperating good vs bad AI is a proper grid running around renewable which we need in any case and should have had a decade ago.

It’s also massive hypocrisy. Data centres have been around for a while, no one complains about the cost of running YouTube and Netflix, or the cost of developing CoD and running the servers. One AI query is about 10 seconds of streaming, are you critical about watching tv? Should I calculate the cost of making a movie and remove it from the 10 seconds or do you only use that logic with AI?

You got told to be mad by the media and that’s why you are mad.

Name one good thing a food processor has made. That’s what you sound like.

Fyi, an AI request is about 1 second of microwave use. I’m guessing you never use a microwave, a minute worth would be more than my daily use of energy with AI.

“It existed before” and some kind of stolen valor argument? Who the fuck cares, what’s your actual point. No one is calling themselves Torvalds or wtv while vibe coding anyways, the whole comment is just emotional whining and goal post shifting.

  • Yes, but taking away the LLM won’t solve anything imo. It’s hard to know if there are more deaths or if it’s just the media pushing it because of what it’s attached too, but I’m guessing someone that falls deep into their delusions because of an LLM would have found something else to do the same with. It’s the system (both the government and probably her immediate support system) that’s letting her down.

It’s kind of muddy, especially when it comes to kids. This case seems like clear cut religion cult delusions though. Hard to pretend the LLM had more impact than her upbringing, and no one talks about restricting religion so it just comes off as another anti-ai token gesture.

It’s like the case of the kid with Daenerys. Everyone wants to talk about the GoT bot but nobody wants to talk about the bullying, the parents who knew about it and let him grow reclusive anyways, or the same parents who left a gun in easy reach.
