Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your favorite gift you've ever received?English
0·20 days agoNecessary background: When we started dating, both the husband and me were homebodies. As the years have gone by, I’ve developed a taste for going out and experiencing stuff, especially music stuff, that doesn’t even match his taste. Nonetheless I tend to ask him to come along, and he categorigally says no.
He gave me the gift of coming with me to one event of my choosing, per month, for a year. ❤ It was wonderful.
I’m still acquaintances with someone I now know killed one of their parents. Was told by someone else and confirmed on my own, he hasn’t mentioned it.
I hope I haven’t let it impact our relationship. I don’t wholly know the context and he served his time, should be allowed a fresh start without it being dug up again and again.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's a subject you (think) you know more about than the average Lemmy user?English
0·7 months agoHow is “average lemmy user” defined? I probably know more about eg. tea than the typical/median user. But there may be a true tea expert here that pushes the average up by a lot.

Depends entirely on how complicated your income/expenditure is. This year was the first time in 10 years or more that I needed to add to my pre-filled tax notice (major reno, deductions worth it). I may have missed out on a few hundred € of deductions in that time, but my simple life has always been listed immediately correct: Income from national work/benefits, voluntary retirement insurance, stocks&funds wins, losses, dividends.
