Some pronunciations are very different for sure. For example, France French says montagne (mountain) sort of like mohn-tahn-yeh, and in Montreal it’s mohn-taine.

The most disturbing part of that is the revelation that Goofy apparently has anatomical skin flaps and organic buttons as part of his ass.
One of my favorite random Japanese language coincidences is that one meaning of “yo” is the same in English and Japanese.
Let’s go, yo!
Ikou, yo!
Since English doesn’t have codified politeness levels in grammatical structures (like Japanese does with eg verb endings, where tabe-ru is less polite than tabe-masu for the same verb meaning “eat”), we tend to make requests longer the more polite we’re being.
For example:
- Bring me that.
- Hey/Yo, bring me that.
- Can you bring me that?
- Could you bring me that?
- Would you mind bringing me that?
- When you get a chance could you bring me that?
- If if fits into your schedule I’d appreciate it if you could bring me that.
- I know you’re really busy but it would really help me out a lot if you could bring me that.
With close friends the first one is ok(ish) if your tone isn’t too commanding, but I’d normally stick to 2 through 4 (or 5). For some reason a “please” sounds overly polite whereas a “thanks” upon receiving the request doesn’t. I imagine this is different for other regions. I’m from the US northeast, but people from the south probably feel differently.

Yeah and the sad/hilarious thing about it is that he doesn’t even enjoy rich guy shit . He doesn’t appreciate good food, which is why he eats McDs instead of $1000/oz caviar. He’s traveled but I’m sure he just sits in hotels–can you imagine him appreciating being in a new place and just taking in the surroundings, or enjoying nature somewhere? He’s not having amazing new experiences skiing in the Alps or skydiving or anything.
Other than covering everything he can with gold and I guess being a guest on some luxury yachts, he could have had everything he’s ever cared about on a working stiff’s salary. The only real thing his wealth ever did for him was allow him to put up buildings with his name on it. Was that worth never having a real relationship or someone loving you (other than maybe with Epstein), never having a single accomplishment, and having everyone except delusional cultists detest your entire existence?
Turns out the real TDS was inside him all along
I should probably do that. Feels like you can scrub your fingers pretty decently after cutting peppers, and there’s still a bit of residual burn when you touch sensitive areas. Maybe it depends on the spice level of the pepper, but I don’t generally go above habs for eating raw, so it’s not like I’m chopping reapers or even ghosts.
shaving cream. you think it’s necessary because you use it every time, and if you were to not use it all of a sudden, your face would be shredded
You shave with just water alone? I’ve done that a couple times in the past and it’s not a pleasant experience, and I’m far from having sensitive skin.
Why do people keep saying “once you find something that works”
Yeah, this kind of thing is what I think subconsciously prevented me from getting a safety razor for years. The wetshave sub on reddit has tons of posts like “I used emu fat extract soap with my hog bristle sterling XCo 9000 brush today after preheating my skin to the optimal 99.4 degree temperature (confirmed with a laser thermometer) and shaved with the jewel-encrusted limited edition sex panther cage free Blade BlasterTM”.
I’m sure if you have sensitive skin you might need to make certain adjustments, but I got the cheapest safety razor I could find online and a pack of 100 blades for like 10 bucks, and use it exactly like I used those stupid 5 blade ripoffs with no issues at all.

Yeah that plus a shitty voting system. Without FPTP and senators representing a tiny population being given the same power as ones representing a larger one, maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess.
29% of the voting population isn’t a zeitgeist.
