Maybe that was the problem, lol. Never had any problem washing my pillows. I’ve only used basic IKEA pilllows though, not sure about the fancy memory foam or similar types.
Yeah, I don’t think you can wash memory foam pillows. But mine comes with a cover and I put another one on top, both of which I can wash easily. Good enough.

last time i did it exploded in the washing machine. i had to disassemble it and dig the wet filling out by hand.
that’s how i learned it was half sawdust.

this was a cheap ikea pillow. it was also pushing 30. maybe that was it.

if you’ve ever been at an industrial woodshop, you know that sawdust is hella soft and warm. and itchy. and carcinogenic.

uhm … do you have actual scientific research or is this just your guess? because yeah, asbestos is bad, but that’s mineralic. sawdust is organic.

I think your meant to use a cover and wash the cover
unless your cover is lined with a rubber sheet, the pillow will get dirty eventually.
I think your meant to handwash the pillow every now and then
you can machine-wash them but it needs to be gentle. and you need to tumble-dry them for like four hours with tennis balls to break up any wet clumps.
