I’m attracted to old men and people say it’s weird but I just feel like they truly love their woman and respect them because my dad is 30yrs older than my mom and i always wish for their relationship. So few months ago, I met a 47yrs old man online, we’ve been talking for months and everything was going well until he started asking for my personal info. I actually showed him my id and cover some part because of safety and yet he keeps asking me to send it without covering anything on it. I blocked him the second day because I don’t feel safe again. Is that the right thing to do or I’m not being patient enough

Thanks for the replies in advance

I’m no expert, but that’s the kind of information you never share with a stranger online

Sending picture of ID with more parts of it censored to verify someone age is normal. BUT with all the details is pretty dodgy. You have dodged a bullet

Yes, absolutely block him. Some dudes will use that personal info plus other material to blackmail you. Then they’ll post it all on a revenge porn site. Be careful out there.

Are you under 18 and he’s trying to make sure you’re not a Fed, just because what he’s doing is creepy and illegal?

Your parents relationship is from a much different era. Ive been telling my friends “single men are single for a reason” and it may not be for a bad reason

Not normal at all, and you better wonder what he’s going to do with that ID even if you’re no longer in contact with him.

Covering the unnecessary parts is correct, even if you need to show ID anywhere.

Maybe he wanted to know if you were 18 or sth, but there your photo and birthdate should’ve been enough.

Apart from that I don’t think only older men can respect their women. It’s true that men above 30 have matured somewhat but you can find decent people in any age range. And, obviously, bad people too, as you discovered.
