Sorry for a potentially extremely dumb question, hopefully that means this question is a good fit for this community, at least.
Judging by the news, it seems like US and Iran are entering a deal to end the war. I did not expect it to end this easily. I thought Iran would want to get something tangible out of the war, that is not a mirage of “we will not attack you / put sanctions on you”. But I guess they just want to end the war…
In the end, Trump got major disruptions and distractions he wanted, got a rug-pull in stock market for his croniss, and can pull out before there are much consequences. People will forget, and maybe vote in favor for Trump in the midterms. Is he lucky, or is he actually quite smart in achieving nefarious intent?
No, he is not smart, in any sense of the word. Trump started all this by choice. Hundreds, if not thousands have died directly, and millions have been affected worldwide. And when the people and media didn’t immediately rally around the flag as expected, he became desperate to get out of it. The only thing he cares about is optics, and Iran won the narrative the second the first bomb dropped. If anything, Iran agreeing to end the conflict is doing Trump a favor. He does not deserve it. The only thing he deserves is to be removed from office and tried for the fucking mountain of crimes he has committed throughout his miserable existence.
