Trump must have an outsized amount of restraint, if the media is to be believed, because he’s constantly some form of livid behind closed doors but never shows it on camera.
If you watched the presidential debates in 2016, you can really see it showcased. The first one he interrupted and talked over Hillary Clinton constantly. He did that screechy no no you’re wrong thing constantly. He paced the stage like a toddler with pinworms. One of the later debates they announced ahead of time that they would be silencing the mics once time was up. I was looking forward to him foaming at the mouth and shouting into air. Instead, he was perfectly composed and restrained throughout it.
It most reminds me of abusers who will “fly off the handle” at any little thing at home, blaming passion or that they were pushed into it. But in public totally charming, totally cool and collected (except that look which lets you know you will be hearing about it at home).
Trump is a bully and con man. He plays dumb(er) because it gets him advantages. Even the TACO stuff; I’m not sure he cares about consistency, but he sure is making a ton of money for himself and incidentally his friends by waffling and swinging the markets.
