I’m not a communist, but I will happily stand shoulder to shoulder with communists against fascists. They should clean their own house of fascists first. Then maybe I’ll worry about communists. Or maybe I’ll just let them be.
Many in my family fought the Nazis once, some caught bullets doing it, and we’ll do it again if we have to.
The only communists I’ve ever known were some elderly Wobblies, who were amazing people, and a few middle-class wankers who cosplayed Trotskyism, Stalinism and/or Maoism at my college. The latter almost all ended up working for Daddy’s company or being investment bankers once they graduated.
I guarantee you Mike Johnson can’t define communism nor can any of his moron supporters.
Peacefully exercising rights, wanting your tax dollars to pay for food and healthcare, and demanding due process and accountability is being labeled as “radical” by the Republicans in charge. And they are setting the stage to detain and remove anyone in their way.
Think of that before you vote R in an election, or when you decide not to vote at all. They both have the same effect of supporting MAGA/The Heritage Foundation/fascism.

How close to barbarism is the USA
Well I know a local real estate group that is backed by some banks that goes to old neighborhoods, finds houses that are completely trashed and then offer the other maybe 100-200k to just move out and sell the house privately to them. It usually seems like a good deal for these homeowners since they bought at 75-200k sometimes have a mortgage still in the 50k range.
Then this group hires minimum wage workers to come in gut the place, slap on some bulk purchased cheap fixtures, paint, appliances, vinyl siding and flooring.
In the end they’ll turn around and sell it for near double what they purchased. Usually first time home buyers are the only ones that can afford them or someone on a VA loan who has only lived in base housing or apartments. They usually end up getting loans from those same banks above because they will offer discounted adjustable rates that seem too good to be true.
Eventually the shit lipstick starts to wear away and the rotten bones of the structure show… Maybe an appliance breaks around the 1 year mark when a warranty usually ends. Then that new home buyer can’t really afford those fixes because they are earning just enough to barely pay that adjustable rate that somehow skyrocketed and has additional fees tacked on. Shit slowly starts to fall apart more…

@tidderuuf @A_norny_mousse They don’t have to be old neighborhoods. Have a friend who moved out of NYC to Dobbs Ferry. Many items in her townhome came from HomeDepot which shocked the hell out of me (I didn’t tell her). We lived in a small village mixed demographics vs mostly if not all white in DFerry and had the same tiles, lights and other things I noticed we had. She can afford to fix her house and other townhomes that have issues.
Standard fascism playbook. Attach false labels to your opponents (if they already radicalized enough parts of their base, their base is going to go with it), then start oppressing them (or worse).
Trump also regularly attaches labels like “Radical Left-Wing X” or “communist activist judge Y” to people he doesn’t like. It’s to spread these false accusations, establish these falsehoods as a new reality in the public minds through constant repetition of such propaganda lies (see Goebbel’s dictionary, he mentioned that large parts of the population can be made to believe any false claim if you just repeat it enough times), and then to radicalize their followers to start oppressing these people.
Law, order, truth, science, it all doesn’t matter anymore. Fascism is all about creating its own warped reality in which everyone who is against the fascists is a ripe target for oppression (or worse).
It’s also going to get worse as time goes by because they want to remain in power even when their terms are limited, i.e. they need to establish a dictatorship-like form of corrupt and criminal government which also fuses with ruthless mega corps and other ruthless, powerful billionaires on the other side (who benefit from corrupt, right-wing extremist governments). And thanks to the internet and billionaire-controlled social media and some other media companies, it doesn’t stay local to the USA - the brown propaganda spreads to all western democratic countries, turning their citizens into fascists who also vote for right-wing extremists. Next to climate change, this is the biggest problem we have in the western world right now.
