Sergio Furnari said he thought the lifesize sculpture – which no one commissioned – would raise ‘millions’ of dollars

To add injury to insult, Furnari recently broke his foot working on the statue, after tripping over a roll of tape in his studio.

“Is it cursed? Maybe. I don’t know,” he told the Guardian.

      That’s an old-fashioned view. The magic of modern capitalism is that you can lose money every single day, providing something no one wants, and still get valued at hundreds of billions of dollars.

        Labor and materials. It’s definitely not $100k in just materials, even with the cost of bronze (especially since it doesn’t look like solid bronze, it looks like bronzed clothing). He must be figuring a very high wage for himself.
