    Pedophiles and abusers. Conservatives have been investing a lot of money so that pedophiles and abusers are the role models of young men as part of their manufactured culture war. When Javier Milei took power in argentina he already had a network of influencers behind him spewing the values of his presidency: anti LGBT sentiment, scorn for women and feminism, racist rethoric and the openly abusive machinations of free market capitalism. The ideology came first. The looting of argentina followed.

    This has been going on for a while in the US and it has the potential to get way worse. Because this is the official discourse now, and children and young men are taking the examples of these adults and reproducing them in equally disfunctional lives.

    Why are we surprised that things are going to shit? People say we are living in the ideocracy, but i think the state if things is way worse. They want to create a society of savages and march us down to self destruct along with their failing system.

    Joseph D McBride, the Tates’ lawyer, told reporters that his clients were innocent. He said: “They’ve never done nothing wrong. They shouldn’t be extradited for crimes they didn’t commit. It’s garbage. It’s a stitch-up job.”

        Lawyers aren’t supposed to lie but also represent their clients in the best possible light to try and get sympathy of the judge, jury (if present) and public opinion in general.

        Not to sympathize with the guy but seems evidence is pretty solid. All he can do is try to spin into something it’s not.

      Right wing politics in general tends to go hand in hand with misogyny, sexism, and generally treating people as things. Whenever you talk to them they always say it’s a few bad apples, but it seems to be like a third of the barrel.

      Of course it’s even worse with the GOP because they are now actively misogynistic rather than just trying to hide it beneath the surface which is what the right of done in the past. To various levels of success.
