Well, there’s 8 billion people, and now you have the ability to instantly learn about of any of those 8 billion people do anything wrong.

There’s still 7,999,999,xxx that didn’t intentionally drive into a crowd and stab people.

Other things that most likely happened yesterday, but nobody told you. Hundreds of millions of people who just went on a first date. Billions who sat down for a meal with people they loved and smiled. Billions who saw a neighbor they’ve never talked to, but still enjoy that they see them most days. Millions that went to a local festival and saw their town enjoy a community event.

Does is change the fact that people are still killing people for no reason?

Yeah, see, the issue with the initial post was the “reason” part. You’re doing the same thing. Clearly he felt he had a good enough reason to kill people. It doesn’t matter if you feel you have a reason or even a good reason to kill people.

There’s no objective truth to having a good reason to kill people. It’s entirely up to each individual what they consider a good reason. And it doesn’t matter if you say no reason is a good enough reason, because it’s up to each individual deciding, not you for everyone.

Sort of part of belonging to a species with individual personalities and no all encompassing hive mind.

So we’ve moved into “what is the good” territory, eh Glaucon?

I believe there is an objective good, and that people killing in these types of scenarios are not doing it for a good reason, objectively.

We can leave it there, then.
