I know it’s just a meme, but this episode always makes me cry when he says in a broken voice “I am a human being, damn it.” It just strikes me as so profound an injustice, to be considered less than human just because you’re a different color. “No, we won’t publish your awesome story because the lead is black.” “No, we won’t put your photo in the magazine because you’re black.” “No, you can’t work here anymore, because your stories about a black man being more than just another servile nigger are too much of a risk. iT cOUlD stArT a RAce RiOt!”
Yeah that was a really powerful scene and story. Very poignant presentation of a prevailing theme of the show, and they absolutely hit it out of the park =]
