I went to school in the fingerlakes.
I like Ithaca a lot. Its this town sitting on top of a mountain surrounded by other mountains. It feels serene and surreal to be there. I think the food is good and the locals really seem to care about their town. Idk about Troy. Most people who live there don’t seem to love it when you ask them about it, but my fav video game shops is there. It’s really small, but the town itself is cute.
If you’re ever going to the area as a tourist, id recommend the fingerlakes wine trail. Angry Orchard hard cider is also produced around there. The wine trail is most popular in the fall and its so worth it. My favorite winery is Montezuma and their tasting comes with a wine glass! (And they make fudge and its soooo good).
Summer time all the creamerys open and the fun ice cream flavors and wines slushes are such a treat.
If I ever have money, I’d love to buy a home in Skaneateles off of the water and just live the rest of my days in peace.
Long story short, I like the area so much id say its worth a visit.
