Having to go back 4000 years to find a good example isn’t very persuasive.
Nothing in this article or my post says that we “need to go back 4000 years”. It’s one part of a counternarrative full of examples that continue through to today. But sometimes, people who defend hierarchy like to say it’s “natural” or “necessary” because they think the ancient world was nothing but empires.
It’s the only example either the article or your post actually gave.
I invite you to begin a rewarding exploration of the current research on this topic with your local library’s access to academic journals on anthropology, archaeology, and history.
Who is your intended audience for this post? Normal people aren’t going to do that; if you want to be persuasive you have to show your work.
