I like the software, so I’ll overlook it’s shady deeds.

Nice keyboard
Thanks. It’s the only swipe enabled keyboard I’ve found for my degoogled phone. They have their own F-Droid repo as well

Close. For-jay-oh

For-gay-ho (Spanish)

You have been banned from Tesseract
Never knew about Esperanto, but that was fun to learn about.
Next up: lojban
It can still be pretty euro-centric but it’s awesome to be able to communicate with people from any number of countries at the same time.
It’s in their FAQ 🙂
Thanks for this. I should have known it’d be somewhere like that.
I enjoy how there’s the correct answer, and then there’s the other answers in this thread. 🙃
Oh wow, they have an audio sample and everything! Looks like it’s “for jeo” (pronounced like “Mateo”)
I feel like if you need an audio sample to get people to pronounce your name correctly, you should just name it something else…
Aka, pretend it’s Spanish, since it’s a word from pretend Spanish (specifically Esperanto, not Portuguese)
Wasn’t Esperanto made by a Polish dude?
J has an H sound in Spanish, not a Y sound.

Forge Joe is how I pronounce it.
How many jay-o’s?
I keep reading it as “four-gee-joe”, but I’m pretty sure that is not the right pronounciation.
As a speaker of Esperanto, I believe they used the Esperanto for the noun “forge” which is spelled ‘forĝejo’ with a facy-pants g-circumflex.
In Esperanto, the G with a hat is pronounced like the soft G in forge. The J is pronounced like the letter Y, like in the English word fjord.
So, I don’t know if the makers of the tool intended the Esperanto pronunciation to be used. But if it is, the pronunciation would be like forge-AY-o.
Ay yo!
Its named after the Esperanto word, but the intended pronunciation is for-JAY-oh.
