People are fighting back and winning against these soulless tech giants. Most uplifting news I’ve seen in weeks.

Not sure why you deleted that, it was a good post
oh, I deleted it because I figured it might be a little bit depressing for this community, which I only noticed was uplifting news after posting, but if you think it fits here, I’ll put it back!
Thank you for putting it back!
I am very grateful for your voice of reason; so damn tired of the astroturfing calling for immediate violence, which is a horrible take.
Unorganized action is not helpful for starters. Unorganized violent action would be so much worse, as it would give justification for mobilizing the army under the pretense of quashing insurrection. And given that he already tried doing that preemptively, it’s very clear that’s the goal.
Well I guess we know who the sickle cell is in this convo lol
I appreciate your kind words. Violence always begets more violence. Sometimes, it’s unavoidable, and if we completely refuse to defend ourselves we will always be exploited, but violence always needs to be the option of last resort. Using violence to defeat those who believe in might-makes-right just proves that we are mightier, rather than dismantling the toxic ideology at the root of the problem. We need to find a way to peacefully break the cycle of violence.
I actually think the idea of seeing this content as depressing is erroneous. Lots of people have become withdrawn or feel defeated, due to not know how they can make a difference, almost a forced depression.
Seeing practical and structured steps of action can help people feel like regaining empowerment.
Its easy to say calls for violence are many, violence is already being used, trying to educate or vote the way out of this is unlikely, but its actions like this that show resistance without violence. Its actual hope.
In this instance its a start to hold a line, it took one person to stand up and harness others. OP’s list is right, organise, plan, set some goals and not fight within themselves. Your political establishment has failed, Radical should not be a dirty word or a skateboard call.
