What is the make and model of the car?

Short version. It’s most likely cost and data mining.

Some car manufacturers refuse to put wireless connectivity or require a subscription or offer it as an upgrade for Carplay/Android Auto. If it’s an older car then it might not have wifi connectivity and only has Bluetooth.

Some car manufacturers want you to plug your phone in so that you have to use their always connected infotainment system so they can still control the flow of data. There’s lots of articles about it.

In short, it is what it is. Change out your radio or get an adapter.

It does have wifi connectivity and even has its own SIM card. Apparently it’s a connection speed thing. Sucks, I hoped it’s a software problem with a solution :(
