It’s a fact that most games on the market today are prioritizing their storylines above everything else, but you know, part of it too is that our policy at Nintendo is not to compete in the same arena as everyone else.
Interesting that Nintendo had this clear internal identity back then too. I guess I hadn’t really considered the ways in which they might be trying to do so something different, since the N64 was my first exposure to video games and Nintendo was just the default at that time of my life.
