Trump legal team claims the BBC is ‘abusing the deposition process’ as broadcaster fights a $10 billion lawsuit
Donald Trump has accused the BBC of trying to harass his family after the broadcaster sought to subpoena members of his family to challenge his $10 billion defamation lawsuit.
The president is suing the BBC for defamation over a Panorama episode that spliced together two parts of a speech he gave ahead of the Capitol riots in 2021.
Lawyers have requested a U.S. court order Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr, his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner to give documents and testimony in relation to the case.

I am enjoying that he’s gone up against one of the oldest, biggest news outlets, an organisation that has some exceptionally good lawyers, and knows EXACTLY what the boundaries are. And he’s only now apparently beginning to realise that they won’t just fold in fear like everyone else.
The BBC has been sued on far more solid ground by far worse cunts than that sack of shit.
And since he isn’t President of their country, they don’t have to pay up immediately just to appease him.
I think you mean “far less solid ground” - i.e. they’re on very solid ground here.
No, I meant solid ground. As in, Trump’s ground is currently made entirely from loose gravel.
Aah, I thought you meant the BBC’s solid ground, not the plaintiff. Got it.
