Log Cabin Republicans, a leading organization for gay conservatives, will no longer advocate for transgender people, a significant break within the LGBTQ movement as the GOP makes opposition to trans rights a political and policy priority.
The influential group added support for transgender issues to its platform more than a decade ago amid growing cultural acceptance. But Log Cabin Republicans President Ross Hemminger told CNN that in recent years his members have grown increasingly uncomfortable with the focuses of the trans community, including gender-affirming care for minors and the participation of trans girls and women in sports.
Every one of them I’ve ever met were rich trust fund kids who just wanted to pull up the ladder behind them.
It was never about advocating for other gay/trans people, they just want to carve out a space where they personally do not have to pay taxes on their third house in p-town.
Absolute cunts
The leopards will feast like kings!
Log Cabin Republicans.
Betraying everyone in the desperate, fleeting hope that big daddy Republicans will give them a few scraps off the table since 1977
Lol, have fun with all of that. They’re coming for you “regular” gays next.
Log Cabin Fascists.
No need to go after them, the Republicans will do that.
As long as people keep ignoring that most people, including those on the left, don’t agree with girls and women losing these protections in sports, trans rights is going to struggle. Up next: Gay advocacy.
“We’ve decided to compromise on the idea that gay people shouldn’t be beaten to death”
Self loathing gays.

Gay conservatives are even more of a token within the Republican Party than black conservatives; I wouldn’t call their influence ‘significant’ beyond trying to drive a wedge in the LGBTQ+ movement.
I once knew a black gay Republican. Sad dude

A Nazi by any other name… is still a worthless Nazi
Okay. Tolerating these people was an ethical struggle for me. Now I can just respect them as much as they respect trans people.
“When they came for the trans people I said nothing because I was not trans” said the Log Cabin Republicans
