I’m jaded and every “aita” or “rant” reddit post looks like a culture war grifting made-up-story now.

      It hits the elements of

      • HR bad
      • Woman coworker bad
      • “Karen” (middle aged woman) bad
      • men just want to have fun
      • men so oppressed in the professional world by women
      • isn’t this craaaazy bro she’s trying to be involved in our hobbies she’s so jealous
      • le based beekeeping
      • heckin’ wholesome safe male hobbies

It’s posts like that which shift redditors away from woke to anti woke in culture wars, they’re very malleable i would say

Is everything that doesn’t have themes that align with your world view fake? Where do you draw the line?

When i first joined this forum i was constantly reminded that “everything on reddit is fake” so i’m just applying that principle and that is why i figured people might want to chat about it. [I realise i probably should have taken it to a reddit comm which would be a more relevant place for it.]

It’s not so much that it doesn’t align with my principles (beekeeping is based after all), it is just that it’s* laying it on a bit thick*. Even if OP is telling the truth, he didn’t need to make such a juicy story about it - we all get crazy coworkers once in a while, don’t need to give them a public trial on reddit.

The irony is not lost, I am also looking at bee keeping and have been talking to colleges about it. Maybe it’s the new Roman empire?
