The IRGC said the “LN” tail code on the wreckage identified the aircraft as belonging to the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath in Britain, home to the 493rd Fighter Squadron.

Some analysts suggested the debris could instead belong to an F-15E Strike Eagle, as the red coloring visible on the wreckage aligns with markings on F-15s from the same squadron.

Is this an allahu akbar moment? I feel like this is an allahu akbar moment. I mean, for people who say that, I can imagine this would be one of those allahu akbar moments.

Sorry I’m all for US imperialism getting shown up to be a paper tiger, but this is NOT F-35 wreckage and it’s not even a little bit ambiguous.

Eh… I’m not an expert either, but there’s a few pics that show more traditional exposed riveting rather than the inset fasteners you see on stealth aircraft. Plus there are a few pics going around of an F-15 matching the matching livery.

Looks like one was confirmed to be an A-10 Warthog? No wonder they were trying to stop funding for those for like… Forever…
