I think it was a puzzle, so they were only revealing 1 letter at a time?

None of the solvers I tried have a solution for the first word. This must have been edited.
The rules of the speed rounds are different, where the letters just diffuse into place one at a time, and the contestants have to buzz in to try to solve. Unlike with normal rounds, the existence of a particular letter on the board does not mean that every blank must be a different letter.
I was tempted to write a Python script or something to generate a list of combinations with the remaining letters substituted in the first word, but I’m doing my best not to get nerd sniped for a puzzle that probably just has an error.
Could it have been a mistake and they were supposed to reveal an N for ING but didn’t?
