Sikh Women’s Aid supported the survivor in a high-profile 2025 case, when John Ashby was convicted of the racially aggravated rape of a Sikh woman he thought was Muslim.
“She was looking at online comments saying things like, ‘She shouldn’t have been in this country anyway’ and, ‘It’s better she was raped by a white man,’” Kaur says. “These are the types of things we’re now trying to shield our survivors from.”

      Not far off it seems.

And the main push of the article, from the opening paragraph down, is how non-white women’s support and anti-SA groups, are being harrased and attacked by the “Keep OUR women safe” crowd. Despite the Sikhs it mostly focuses on being both a model minority and having been a part of life in Britain for 200+ years at this point.
