I was dreading writing this since I did not want to risk starting any drama, but I don’t know what else to do anymore after seeing the moderating staff reject my report.

It’s truly undeniable that these last three years have been stressful for all of us — most of all Palestinians — so some cynicism is to be expected. That being said, tolerating anti-Jewish sentiment like this does not help any of us either. All that it really does is play into the Herzlians’ hands, capitulating to their alarmism, and makes our spaces less welcoming to Jewish critics of Zionism. I know that we’re all tired of Herzlians constantly abusing accusations of antisemitism, but going so far as to tolerate that phenomenon only gives them exactly what they want to see.

And for the record, yes, I do think that bashing Germans or Italians or the Japanese per se during World War II would have been wrong, because it misidentifies ethnicity as the real problem and needlessly erases the Germans, Italians, and Japanese folk who opposed the Axis. It would have been easier to understand coming from the people whom the Axis oppressed, but even so I would have gently discouraged that kind of thinking. I refuse to play ethnic supremacists’ games by indulging in a little ethnocentrism myself.

I am not going to ragequit Lemmygrad.ml again, but I have to be honest and admit that tolerance for toxicity like this only makes me less interested in using this forum and convinces me that I was correct to limit my usage anyway. That isn’t meant to be a threat; if you truly see nothing wrong with speech like this then I guess that there’s really not much that I can do to stop you. But however you feel about that, I’ll do what feels natural to me and be around less and less.

This is an insane expectation. Pointing out that Jews are not oppressed today is not making Jewish critics of Zionism less welcome. You wouldn’t hold anyone to this level of standard for any other people. There is nothing in there that should be offensive to you as a Jewish person, unless you kill babies or are a Jewish Exceptionalist. There is zero anti-jewish sentiment in there. In fact, OP’s post reeks of Jewish Exceptionalism.

Most of those things that was said could also very easily apply to white people, but if I had said that about white people, it absolutely wouldn’t make White critics of racism any less welcome.

In fact, let’s do it. Let’s replace “Jew” with “white” in that comment.

White people, tell me if I am making you less welcome :

White people today are at the top of a racial hierarchy that exists in western society. Nobody should be worrying about “anti-white sentiment” any more than they should have worried about anti German sentiment or anti Italian sentiment during world war two.

If somebody says “fuck white people”, it is not as offensive as if somebody said “f-black people”. Black people are actually oppressed in society whereas white people are not.

White supremacists expect us to treat them better, put them on a pedestal while they are already at the top of the chain. There is a genocide going on. Calling a German a “kraut” wasn’t offensive during the second world war.

The vast majority of white people live in the imperial core where racist systems exist to maintain their privileged position. They enjoy much better wealth and social prestige than others.

Apart from fringe black-nationalists, anti-white racism is not a thing. Nobody really hates white people for being white. In fact, many non-white people people internalize and support racist systems inadvertently to the benefit of white people. White people are afforded privileges for being white in every part of the world, and especially in the imperial core.

The US is a white-supremacist hotspot internationally. All white institutions in the imperial core should be dismantled. Explicitly non-racist institutions should be the only ones that should remain.

Fuck all the white people who kill babies and support killing babies.

Oh look at me making all the white people feel less welcome.

Fuck off… Autism is largely a product of silicon valley and it’s the hegemony of America

Why are you choosing to crash out like that in this thread in particular? It’s weird…

Yes. I’m autistic and thus disabled. We can also be geeks with hobbies. Either way, you’re derogatorily calling people autistic freaks.

                    No you are not.

The woman, 34, has a seizure disorder, autism, and intellectual and cognitive impairments. CBC News is not identifying her to protect her privacy. “She enjoys things that a child would enjoy. So dolls — she likes to play with dolls. She believes in Santa Claus,” said Melanie Byrne, her caregiver, in a recent interview. The woman has been part of Byrne’s family for decades, but Byrne and her husband began caring for her in their home in 2019. “Her conversation wouldn’t be the same as an adult conversation. She talks about things that would be of interest to a child as opposed to an adult.”

That’s actual autism and I certainly have nothing against that.

Level 1 “autism” is not a thing. Those that called themselves aspergers are larping as disabled

                This you?

Edit: so which one is it, you’re insulting people for being “autistic freaks” or “level 1 autism isn’t real”? Curious to see whether you make up your mind before you get banned.

Autism is a disability. I think you are all nerds but not autistic. OH tell me, what’s the difference between schizoid and your idea of autism? Or just being introverted?

I don’t know dude I have never in my life identified as autistic, I just feel the need to stand up against abusers and bullies like yourself, nice try though. You seem to know a lot more about schizoid than anyone else here, and you brought up autism first. Is this to distract from the main convo in the OP that’s too radioactive to touch? Well, you’re the one calling people idiots, dullards, and autistic nerds so I’m just poking at you until you get banned for ableism.

T34MediumTank is saying what we outside the imperial core have been telling you damn crackers is the truth, it just hurts your worldview and feelings so much you’d rather ignore it. Jews are not systemically oppressed, most of them identify as white and most live in their precious ethnostate and western countries where they by far experience enormous amounts of wealth and social mobility. This isn’t the 1940s anymore. https://archive.is/B9aDv The fact they are commiting the most livestreamed genocide in history while hoards of western and white lefties still derail convos to make it about their feelings shows a huge amount of privilege actual oppressed people do not get.

I was trying to figure out why this comment rubs me the wrong way. And I think it’s that it reads like bait. It’s like the goal is that someone will take offense to it, so that you can point and say “see, it’s like I said, people are being sensitive.” Like you could have just argued the point you’re arguing with the article and left it at at that, instead of making these sweeping claims about “hoards of people derailing convos to make it about their feelings” (on lemmygrad of all things - we don’t even have that many regular posters here and certainly they are not acting as a reactionary horde).

Lemmygrad may not have a lot of individual posters but of the posts that we get, there are way to many that utilize the logic of liberal Zionism. I genuinely wish that we would bait out the Zionist on this instance more because what 3rdworldcommiecat is saying is right and the fact that what they’re saying is still in dispute, decades into the formation of a Jewish supremacist state and years into a genocide, says a lot about the people who use this site.

No, I don’t think so. This is making a pretty sweeping statement about the site as a whole and the people who use it, and I don’t think it’s either fair or accurate. Such a broad claim requires evidence and all you’re providing is a vague claim to “the logic of liberal Zionism” being used, without even an example of what that logic looks like.
