Pop!_OS bans AI-generated code from much of its codebase
Alternate Title: Pop!_OS allows AI-generated code in it’s codebase
So does the Linux kernel so you better get used to it
I have no problem with AI. I use it often for lots of things. The only difference between me and Pop_OS is that I won’t try to convince you that I barely use it at all.
Sounds like you’re pretty on board with perfect being the enemy of good.
I’m on board with not bandwagoning the anti-AI trend by trying to convince users they barely use the thing the people they are trying to convince hate. It’s disingenuous and slimy.
I use AI. I have yet to need to convince anyone that I barely use it.
You’d know all about disingenuous and slimy wouldn’t you…
Burn!
The part they allow is for user-submitted content inside their COSMIC shop, which you can luckily easily avoid.
Nothing related to the code underlying the distro or desktop environment
System76 has had enough of AI code, banning it from COSMIC after reviews got out of hand, but making an exception for cosmic-flatpak.
