For those who don’t know, the original Hagia Sophia was one of the most impressive construction speed-run of all time. Completed in just under 6 years with 4th century tech. They botched it a bit so the roof fell but still very impressive.
Yeah, they would have had a clean run if they had made the dome more curved. It was a bit flat and an earthquake took the dome down and destroyed the altar. Still very impressive and definitely been well maintained.
