The WA govt is doing a great job but conservation work is challenging.

Dr Barrett said they were seeing some success with the banksia montana populations.

“Although we say we started with 1,000 seedlings of banksia montana, due to drought, due to fire, due to disease, we now have less than 300 young plants, some of which are flowering and starting to set seed,” Ms Barrett said.

    great job ? that’s perhaps an appropriate repsonse for a 3 yr old for their first drawing, not the actions of WA governemt , what they’re doing is beyond horrific.

    this is just more bullshit kicking the can down the road and should be called out for what it is, at best, a bandaid on a Ebola lesion.

    They’re reneging on thier climate change promisies, expanding gas, land clearing for suburban sprawl, not building electrified interstate rail, not releasibg a plan to ban cars and trucks, not closing airports, all while expannding thier fossil fuel strategic reserves and on and on

    all of that is destroying the enviorment and then being prised for scattering a few seeds is beyond the pale :( bushfires will get much worse hotter and more frequent, especially as the bottom of WA dries out even further from climate change and the top 3/4 of the state is arguably unlivable now.

    A pox on both the government and the voters who elected them for their part in destroying us all :)
