    Eidos also botched the Deus Ex franchise, which was printing money, even with the latest entry (Mankind Divided) being the second in a planned trilogy with an open ending. As in, players know it ends on a cliffhanger and they still play it. Kind of like Mass Effect 4, but that one’s a lot less popular in its fandom, mostly based off the strength of the first trilogy, which is still revered. By contrast, Deus Ex had a strong (legendary!) opener, a disappointing sequel, and then a very promising prequel and good enough standalone game, though it was later revealed to be the first in a planned trilogy.

      Do you mean they’re cancelling it as a tax write-off? I don’t see how you could launder money this way.
