I tried to go to a bot user recently so I could block the bot and my client got stuck trying to load the profile page. I don’t mind so much as long as the posts generate discussion. In some cases the bots are diluting the feeds with posts too much. It seemed like the offending “community” was a bot post community. If you hate it, just block it. Simple.
Tbh I am/was a little annoyed by all the artwork and non-photo related posts.
Like it wasn’t bad art or anything, c/pics just doesn’t seem like the right community to be posting grandma quote art.
i don’t understand it either it stopped being fun almost immediately.
and there was never an AI post. the original person that made the trend just made that up.
I’m kind of getting sick of reading all the LLM and AI crap. i just come here for cute things 😢

the fact that you’re getting downvotes is especially depressing. considering this is a place a lot of us come to get away from those kind of obnoxious titles and whatnot.
i have seen “positive” communities turn toxic for the strangest of reasons. and I think this is a bit close to that for my liking. 😥

Certainly not toxic at all to complain about a fad that ends up with more cute pets in the community and then make a post announcing their departure, right?

It’s a fad, it has boosted engagement in the community, and it won’t last forever.

It is annoying, but, also, I get it. I’ve seen more ai slawwp than I ever wanted to see, so I get why people here are putting the “made by humans” tags on their posts. You do what you feel you must to stay sane, and when/if you’re ready to return, you’ll still be welcome here.
