Wait, with Asahi booting on a A18 chip, does that mean Asahi on iPhones might be possible in the future?

I would imagine that the hardware on iPhones (touchscreen input, multiple cameras, FaceID) would make it much more challenging and probably not within the scope of the project (!). iPhones are also more locked down then Macs are, I believe there is no way to install an alternate operating system on modern iPhones. Project Sandcastle, a project to implement Android on iPhones, only got around to the 7 (and even then, it had poor support).

Macs explicitly allow booting a 3rd party OS, which makes Asahibrvrn possible in the first place. IPhones actively fight you if you try.

If the Macbook Neo was capable of running Asahi Linux, that would be really neat! Especially since Apple will 100% bog it down with MacOS updates to force schools to upgrade their devices earlier than necessary.

Better off going elsewhere for Linux.

Linux will always be a second class citizen for Apple.

            I used to sell them.

The reality is, Apple Succeeded by lying about their stability, people thought they couldn’t get viruses, and people wiling to overlook their f***-ups.

Here in Australia, a week before Boot camp was released, i actually showed a national sales manager how we got Windows running on a Mac mini, and told him how it would be a great transition technology. He basically tried to make me look like an idiot in front of customers in our showroom.

A week later, boot camp was released. The same guy returned, and was repeating all the same arguments I made a week ago, and was proud of them, acting like Apple’s was brilliant. I got no apology. I should have called him out at the time, burnt my bridges and demanded an apology.

The things Microsoft and Google did are honestly less bad than honestly. Apple blatantly lied about a lot of things, stood on stage and pretended like they had full rights to multitouch, and they had invented it.

In fact, Microsoft bailed out Apple in 1997, and the moment they started recovering, they treated Microsoft like crap

Where do these conspiracies come from?
