I’m pretty sure my dog dreams about finally eating all that food I keep to myself
I wonder if dogs actually feel like this
Highly doubt it
Dogs have had all independence bred out of them long long long ago. They are genetically subservient to humanity.
So, no. The dog is dreaming of bouncing balls, the incredibly mean cat who won’t play fair, and that squirrel in the tree who keeps getting away.
I saw a little documentary recently about a study from a dream institute in Hungary (if I remember correctly) that REM sleep is absolutely vital for dogs brains to process the events of the day to learn from and to make lasting impressions. That’s why dogs nap a lot and have these intense REM phases. For dogs sleep is much more than just rest. Probably for us as well.
Are you saying I can train cats by provoking it when it feels sleepy, until it fights back, then I punish it by pinning it and pinching it and finally let it go into REM? Got it!
I’m saying you can go fuck yourself with a rusty spoon.
