Honestly my favourite thing about star wars is how they treat the canvas of the galaxy as a contained landmass, like it’s some medieval fantasy story. Would like to see more fiction that does this.

Also - thanks for a detailed critique of the prequels. It’s kind of sad how easy it would’ve been for the creators to avoid this plot logic hole, AND you can’t even hand wave it away with “hyperspace lanes” because the map shows that tatooine is not the most direct stop. I also compared your map with an older one (reddit link) to try and figure out if it was just a case of inconsistency from legends-prequels-disney era, and lo and behold the position of star systems is completely consistent.

Now a last comment: Star/planet names are even more interesting than I thought in star wars. I'm seeing:
    • Lots of germanic names - “Druckenwell,” “Steergard,” Spelhaus [North-East]
    • Catholic (or Jedi) names: Monastery, Milagro (miracle in spanish)
    • Terminus, Blutopia (Blue Utopia? lol)
    • Rattatak
    • Wroona and Roona, nearby to one another.
    • Latin namess; Corvus (Crow), Ossus (Bones) which I’d already heard about but the pattern is only emerging now.
