Basically I’m as far left as one can be in the rural midwest. And…… I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m actually a good candidate for … something?

My downside is an underage drinking infraction that resulted in a court martial when i was dumb enough to be part of the military establishment. Thats all, but until now, its been enough to keep me in check.

But i’m tired and my infraction is just normal teen shit here in Wisconsin, so why not be politically active? I don’t have kids or a spouse, so no threats really register. Burn my house down, i have insurance.

So please tell me who i should reach out to.

Im not super social, so the only people who would support me are the people i know from working locally, but those people who would support me are themselves pretty known locally, which makes a decent difference, probably…?

But most people around here don’t know we have flock cameras or what that means, and when they hear about it, they are really upset. So i feel thats probably a good lead-in.

But overall i have no base: this area is wildly conservative. Uphill battle.

If you can minimally blend with that crowd, going to a church that isn’t toxic to you helps.

They’re active in communities and already network. And they spread your name around like crazy. You know, if you can find a denomination that isn’t cancer. They exist, and they are old blood infrastructure for building movements.

How old are you? Being older tends to help pull conservatives. If you have the time and money, start researching the laws for running in your local elections and getting a grass-roots program started.
