All these people worried about the flat earth and not a single one worried about the real issue here: Our turtle here, is it a male or a female? Because the outcome when it finds another wandering turtle can be extremely different depending on this.
I do believe the Great A’Tuin is male but don’t think he’s ever seen another turtle
I knew it!
GNU Sir Terry
Good ol’’ A’tuin
If I may, could you add to the transcript that its a flat planet on the backs of elephants on the back of a turtle, in a reference to discworld?

Thanks!
I knew the world was flat! F U Round Earthers! Now the 4 elephants on the back of a turtle did surprise me.
Every time I’ve seen this, it’s been on my phone and I’ve always thought it was the shadow of a drone.
Now I’m seeing it on a bigger screen and can finally tell what it is.
So moon turtles are a thing now?
Always have been
i thought it was only moon rabbits who lived on the moon. /j
“See the TURTLE of Enormous Girth”
“On his shell he holds the Earth.”
“His thought is slow, but always kind.”
“He holds us all within his mind.”
“On his back all vows are made;”
“He sees the truth but mayn’t aid.”
“He loves the land and loves the sea,”
“And even loves a child like me.”
I find it amusing that more than once I’ve seen this picture of A’tuin, the space turtle from Discworld, used to represent Maturin, the space turtle from Stephen King’s books. I don’t remember Maturin having elephants or a disc-shaped world on his back!

They’re both based off a real life series of deities from like Hinduism to some Chinese folk stuff to American Indian tribal lore.
At least it’s better than when they cast Paul Bettany as Maturin in that movie opposite Russell Crowe. He’s not even a turtle, he just studied them.
Another perspective of presumably the same event by Josh Kirby…

Wait, the turtles don’t go all the way down?!?
There’s just the one but he’s pretty big.
After the 🐘🐘🐘🐘 it’s all Turtle. But The Great A’Tuin doesn’t stand on anything. It/She/He/They swims through space, with a purpose and destination unknown to us.
A metamodern reference?! Noice.
