Wellington's deputy mayor has slammed the council's more than $600,000 spend on a website for the capital's new library, labelling it ''an atrocious amount of money''.

I’ve had a quick poke around, lots of animations that are slow to load, very flashy website, doesn’t seem very well adapted to mobile. Pretty annoying to navigate, to be honest.

    Visually, it’s pretty cool, although I haven’t looked at it on desktop yet. Functionality, it’s terrible at conveying information.
