ICE uses Israeli spyware Graphite, installed on phones through a zero-click messaging exploit, to decrypt people’s encrypted messages.

Probably one of the planned obsolescence updates. My Galaxy watch just got two of them and now it needs to be charged once a day.

Tbf, since they moved to WearOS Galaxy Watch always chews through the battery for a day or two after an upgrade, and then returns to normal. I presume it’s doing a load of background app refreshes/optimisations after the update.

My phone battery just a few weeks back started to drain faster as well. When I used reddit it did too, when I switched to lemmy it stopped, until a little back.

Was thinking it’s time for another factory reset, it’s just such a pain.

I use an Android app called SD Maid that cleans up my old-as-the-hills phone. As soon as I use the app my phone is faster.

GrapheneOS would be the perfect OS for all phones if it would actually work on a phone that is not a Google Pixel.

Until GrapheneOS is going to have support for other hardware, it will be going nowhere really slow

They recently announced a partnership with Motorola Mobility (a subsidiary of China’s Lenovo) to offer it on a non-Google phone. Is this what you had in mind?

Having a Moto, this is freaking exciting. Because the Pixel’s iPhone-wannabe qualities (lack of expandable storage, chiefly) irk me so.

Well sorta… This means that we only need like 200 more partnerships and we’re there!

Even with motorola support, you’d still have only a tiny part of the market. I don’t own a google or motorola phone, so now what?
