Implementing your own Muslim bans and letting the US manage empire isn’t much different, but I do agree with the sentiment that one can criticize any government. So, long as your own level of insight/privilege is taken into account.
Sorry, dipped metaphor with things actually happening. Nationalism, Fascism, and anti-immigrant sentiment is growing in every democracy in the world. Even if you don’t have a literal Muslim ban loaded in one or more political parties’ platforms, there is undoubtedly something that is akin to “immigrants bad”. Sitting pretty while the rabid attack dog maintains the status quo that keeps you on top doesn’t mean you’re blameless in the state of the world.
there are more countries in the world than china and the US. this could easily have come from basically anywhere in europe or australia
