It predicts a “critical mass” of residents — supported by projects such as Elizabeth Quay, Perth City Link and the new Edith Cowan University city campus — will help sustain retail, entertainment and community life, reducing reliance on one-off events to generate activity.
I hope this doesn’t result in a lessening of the City of Perth supporting events like Fringe, Perth Festival, et al. Those drawcards will still function to bring people from outer suburbs and rural WA into their capital and connect with it, which is important in itself.
