Bad faith engagement begets bad faith responses. See you at the revolution

In a war where losing means living under fascism and imperialism, where we fight for freedom and our very right to exist, we need to consider every tool at our disposal—even those used by our oppressors.
When they are willing to rig elections, run disinformation campaigns, and use violence and terror tactics on their own citizens, we can’t afford to quibble over which tactics make us feel good. That’s what it means to fight for our lives.

Child marriage is still legal in 33 states, and I’ll let you guess as to those states’ political leanings.
If you guessed Republican, the party whose elected representatives boast a higher rate of sex crimes against children than the trans people they tell us to hate… congrats!
The survivor website Unchained At Last tells us:
Between 2000 and 2021, nearly 315,000 children were legally entered into marriage across the U.S. The vast majority [86%] were girls wed to adult men.
9 out of the 10 states with the highest teen pregnancy rates are also, you guessed it…
PS: this song is at 18 weeks, topped by Lil Nas X’s Old Town Road which ran #1 for 19 weeks without any help from the neo-fash conservative outrage machine.
Trust me tho, the news is devastating for us, we’re all devastated.
Another bad-take bot named after a WW2 airplane? Where do they keep coming from? 🤔

You think we handled that badly, check out operation paperclip for even more bad news.

Dunning-Kruger moment

Don’t bother, this fucking dingdong’s other takes include Billionaires are Fine Actually, Leftists Are Bad, Trans People Aren’t Being Erased, … the list goes on.

Not a lawyer, but I don’t understand how there’s a legal basis for this one. There are many cases of the PEDOTUS threatening to sue people but not following through because he didn’t actually have legal grounds to file a suit. This might be one of those. We’ll have to see.

Yes we did. Be proud of that. <3

That’s a great question I don’t know the answer to. It might be that many left-leaning folks are disillusioned with the political system at large and choose to disengage. The country does have a fantastically low voter participation rate, which itself says things about the citizens’ faith in the system. I’m hopeful that current events, and victories like this one, will push more hopefuls to run as challengers.

Careful… the cheap stuff can do things to your stomach lining that’ll make you wish you’d paid the extra money instead

Save you a click: he’s dead Jim! Nothing much to report, really.
… [McConnell] hasn’t made a Senate vote since before [June 14], but a Senate Agriculture Committee meeting earlier this month did include a vote by proxy. The chair said he had spoken to McConnell about the farm bill and tried to vote on his behalf. It didn’t count.

Save you a click: overthrow of the establishment DNC is possible and it’s happening. Also, AIPAC money can’t buy everything.
Progressive California state Sen. Aisha Wahab has won a special election to serve the remainder of disgraced former Rep. Eric Swalwell’s term in the US Congress, defeating a centrist Democrat backed by millions of dollars in AIPAC spending.
… In November, Wahab will face Bay Area Rapid Transit board member Melissa Hernandez again in a race for a full two-year term in the US House.

By the time I quit alcohol, I was developing peripheral neuropathy and fatty liver from all the drinking. I ended up in urgent care after a particularly bad night. The intake staff treated me like shit because they didn’t understand why someone would drink like that; I was taking up space that someone with an “actual” problem could’ve used. I was laid up in the hospital for three days having auditory hallucinations while I detoxed.
I was lucky enough to have enough time and space to introspect about how my life had gotten so fucked up. Turned out I was coping with massive amounts of unrealized trauma. I came out as queer, I transitioned, and I ditched my unhealthy “friends” and “family”.
5+ years sober, my nerves are better and my liver is back to normal. I shed 40 pounds of alcohol weight. I finally have a healthy relationship with myself.
To anyone who’s struggling… don’t give up. You are capable of winning your fight.

Save you a click: the descent into a fascist police state continues. Plus, a reminder that the state apparatus exists to leverage force against its own citizens.
In Homeland Security Investigations lingo, CUC refers to “Certified Undercover” (CUC) operations in which DHS — typically in consultation with the Justice Department — grants agents and informants authorization to engage in otherwise illegal activities as part of the investigation. A CUC also exempts the agencies from laws that would typically prohibit them from actions like creating shell companies, setting up fake bank accounts, and other types of aggressive investigative steps.
These authorities are typically granted for operations against drug cartels, international money launderers, and other dangerous targets of federal law enforcement, experts told TPM. Now, the Minneapolis documents show, HSI is deploying these tactics against protesters using their First Amendment rights to oppose the Trump administration. Undercover agents monitored a No Kings Rally, a protest of the Iran War, and entered a local church in which a court had barred DHS from conducting some investigations. It’s part of a broader effort that the federal government launched after the killing of Charlie Kirk to criminalize opposition to the president, enlisting terrorism and anti-gang laws and tactics against non-violent protesters.
… The investigations into Minneapolis protesters ramped up in March, filings show. Since then, the DOJ has also run an initiative called Joint Task Force Vanguard, which reported to then-Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, now the Senate-confirmed attorney general. Vanguard is the task force through which federal prosecutors are implementing National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 (NSPM-7), the September 2025 White House directive to law enforcement to treat progressive beliefs as indicators of domestic terrorism.
… House Democrats have begun to respond to the mounting revelations around how NSPM-7 has prompted government surveillance on protesters. In a letter released on Tuesday, more than two dozen House Democrats led by Reps. Delia Ramirez (D-IL), Jim McGovern (D-MA), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA)asked the Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to provide details on how it’s being implemented.

Shocked, I tell you, I’m shocked!

Save you a click: they’re winning the not-war so hard that the Navy supply chain got pushed back to a UK(!) naval base in the Indian Ocean.
The USS Abraham Lincoln wasn’t able to be resupplied because the U.S. Navy’s main resupply base in the Gulf of Oman was destroyed by Iranian strikes—a fact that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth chose not to make public, David Rhode, MS NOW’s senior national security reporter, said on Tuesday.
From late February until June, Iran launched extensive missile and drone strikes on Naval Support Activity Bahrain, causing devastating damage that was not acknowledged by the Pentagon.
The U.S. Navy was forced to evacuate most personnel, and move supply operations to a U.K. naval base on Diego Garcia, a tiny island in the Indian Ocean 2,200 miles from where two aircraft carrier groups have been operating in the Gulf of Oman.
They did exactly that! Just like the US always frames its bombing of children overseas as “defending our nation/democracy”. There’s a reason they all use the same playbook.
As someone raised in a Jewish family whose family tree is half-gone because of the Holocaust, it’s a special kind of depressing to see the lesson these people took away from the Sho’ah was simply a blueprint for oppression.
