If clerk is eluding you you might be able to get on as a carrier or mail handler. Once you’re in you can try to move around internally even. But running routes isn’t for everyone either.

Here in the heart of darkness I had decent luck with the postal service. They’ll run you around but I’m pretty resilient, pay is fine, benefits are honestly pretty good. There’s even a little pension thing. And they’re frequently hiring because it’s a hot physically demanding job, and because management has so little respect for your time and life that a lot of people quit before they become full time.

Yeah there’s really no room for nuance on some of these topics for some reason. You don’t accept the line, a line fed to us by a government we ostensibly don’t trust about a sanctioned enemy that it has every incentive to make you dislike, and somehow you are questioning objective reality to defend an authoritarian.

I think it’s the sheer volume of anti China consent-manufacturing material that does it. Westerners are just bathing in it constantly.

People unironically say shit like LLMs are intelligent and it bums me out so much. It makes me wonder what they think other people are and what they believe they’re doing when they have a conversation with someone.
