Yea lately I’ve been playing a bunch of Quake and Doom mods/wads/paks. There are probably tens of thousands of hours worth of free content available for both of these games. Kinda makes it hard to justify buying a new game when I could go download some masterpiece Quake campaign for free.
It was playable since 2017 though
Hopefully this means we get a new single player quake game.

I know them because they are my brother. He works on Warzone currently, and before that he was working at Capital Games doing meta design for various projects.
Was told to me directly by a warzone dev. There can be multiple upsides to a technical decision.
I should note that this relates specifically to consoles and their more limited storage. PC users are much less deterred by these tactics normally.
Unironically, games like warzone or apex legends leave their textures uncompressed to increase file size on purpose because it makes someone less likely to uninstall the game, therefore leaving the door open for them to “get back into it” and spend more.
And a huge number of art assets in general. These days in the AAA industry the artists work much faster than the designers and programmers, so by the time the designers and programmers have finished their part, the art team has had time to make 3-4 times as many assets as they really need.
NOC technician. I monitor the internet infrastructure for a school district, remotely troubleshoot networking equipment, dispatch field resources, set up maintenance projects, coordinate with vendors, that sorta thing.

No disc on PC is totally different because the platform is more free. We have multiple store fronts, some are DRM free, some come with free compatability tools, we can install games free of a store, back data up to a hard drive and play that same game on a different PC all offline, we could burn our entire library to SD cards or CDs and produce our own physical media, we can use a million combinations of hardware and operating systems, etc.
Locking out discs also hurts game stores and gives consumers worse value for money since they can’t trade in games. Super shitty when there is only one digital storefront
TF2 is way up there for me. I’ve played on and off since launch and accumulated 2500 hours. I think lifetime I might have gotten value from the game because I sold off a bunch of items that appreciated.
My understanding is that 200 is pretty dire, would result in constant fatigue, struggle to build muscle, irritability, erectile dysfunction, low sex drive, etc.
Happy to be educated if I misunderstand that.

I’m not usually one to criticize art, but I’ve seen probably 7-8 comics by this artist so far and haven’t seen one yet with a punchline or message.
