Hey, I’m a leafs fan. I’ll tell you what though, I’ve come to the conclusion it’s good for the ticker. That things a rusty old bucket of regret at this point, but I’ve got a saying, “Just once before I die.” It’s what’s keeping me going at the ripe old age of 45: the perpetual hope that it’ll happen once before I die. I’m going to live to be 200 at the time of my medically assisted suicide from boredom!

0·6 days agoThere’s a lot of tomfuckery going on with the baskets too. Oh we have 11% inflation but take out fuel and groceries and hey look everyone it’s only 3%!! Yay us we beat inflation!!!
What also makes me absolutely laugh until I cry, is they focus everyone on annual inflation, and conveniently try to make everyone forget the situation. Five year inflation remains to be something absolutely hysterical, it’s something like 24 or 25% I beleive.

0·6 days agoI did a 2020 build just as we were all going home, and it was decent enough. After the first wave of GPU craziness, I thought you know what, I’m going to grab one of those 4070ti cards and a 5800x3d, and topped it up to 128gb of Ram (it was on sale for like under $200, so why not, I just wanted to fill the slots). I mean sure it’s AM4, and the 4070 was supposedly the worst card ever and such a waste of money and blah blah blah, but it works. Will work for quite some time. And hey if things keep going the way they are, at least I can put my kids through college by selling some of the Ram in 10 years time lol.

0·6 days agoI’m not convinced. I think there’s a decent enough chance that in a couple of years it’ll be the opposite, we’ll all have supercharged Hemi Cuda’s on our desks. Because there’s been a lot of production that’s all been allocated to the AI market, and when that implodes…

0·6 days agoI can say this succinctly: Tesla is going to fucking collapse on a lot of very stupid retail investors.
I mean don’t get me wrong, people can stay irrational longer than you can stay
insolvent, but Tesla legit makes me shake my head. First off, buddy clearly has major major mental problems, yet he clearly controls the board and runs this company as his own personal fifedom, committing all sorts of shit that in any other country and regulatory system would probably nearly have him behind bars. None of this is priced in.Tesla hasn’t innovated from a car perspective since 2020. Everything has been smoke and mirrors and bullshit like the Cybertruck. FSD? I have a Tesla in the garage that couldn’t reliably drive itself automomously down my alley way, let alone in real world situations. Yet the autobots claim it’s driving their cars fully, which is legit absolute bullshit. FSD has gotten better, sure, but it absolutely needs pretty much full attention and thats nowhere close to changing. So was it full driving by the end of year 2016? 2017? 2018? 2019? In six months. 2020? 2021? 2022? 2023? 2024? 2025!!! 2026!!!
So I mean price in robots that are clearly being driven by people, empty promises, a ton of bullshit. Mental illness, infantile behaviour, let’s call a spade a spade, people can do what they want with their money, invest in what they want, but this stock is 100% hype and 0% actual substance. I don’t care what sort of methodology you try to argue it meets. It defies any sort of logic or rationality. So could it hit 20,000? Maybe. Could hit zero. You might as well throw shit at the wall at this point. How it’s worth more than Toyota though, is a sign of how bad this whole downturn really could be.

0·7 days agoTheir free games have been largely pretty ignorable for the past year or two anyways. Most notably at Christmas, where they used to shower AAA titles, this year it was mostly crap. It would be fairly remarkable if they removed games from your library, not sure they’d actually want to move forward with that. It would be the for sure death of an already dying platform.
The 2-4 week periods are nothing. Just wheel it in there, secure your barn best that you can (this is your biggest concern), and otherwise move on with your day.
It’s when you store it for long periods, that you need to think more strategic. And that really just means somewhere dry. I have to overwinter my bikes for instance, so they just come in the house and lean against the wall, and other than having to pump up the tires, it’s completely in the same shape as it was six months ago.

0·8 days agoUs3n3t is wild for sure. I mean they’ve wrote the textbook on how staying obscure is the ultimate approach to success with most things. And it just functions. Plus the need for a bit of knowledge acts as almost an intelligence test to keep the morons (and the people who can wreck it) out.

0·8 days agoI’m even more lazier than that. Pirate subscription. It’s still a subscription, but I’d argue the 10 dollars a month is worth my time to type an obscure tv show I’ve suddenly remembered into my TV, with one eye open at 2am. I’ve got nothing against a subscription or two, but I certainly am getting sick and tired of like a dozen of them.

0·8 days agoPeople really don’t appreciate how much that game singlehandedly pushed open world gaming forward. I know it’s not perfect, and it looks sort of dated now, but holy hell did that game really push the bar up.

I think Tampa and Buffalo are going to be the real matchup for the east. If nothing gets upset.
West is a tougher call. I think Edmontons always a perennial threat, it’s been a rocky year for them though so I dunno. Colorado for sure will be in the mix.
