Written half in jest, to be honest. I used to be anti-bean, but I’ve grown to like the difference in texture. But there’s a lot of “get a rope” purists around here with regards to beans in chili.

I remember an earlier article where the guy had been exposing himself to the snake bites for quite a while, and wound up talking with an antivenom guy who saw the potential… but that article definitely made it seem like the dude was doing it so he wouldn’t die from snakebites and really got into it, not that he was trying to come up with something for science.

I do love that I’m getting voted down for trying to make it busier to try and get more real people, because network effect is a thing. I get it, we want more actual human engagement, but some of these communities, 2 years in, have single-digit active members, on subs with 70k on That R Site.

I’ve considered using a script to post more often, so that the quieter communities don’t seem like a wasteland. More posts= more engagement = more human posts
