Funny thing : in French, the common word for the colours that English tend to call purple is “violet”, while the direct translation of purple, which is “pourpre” means a dark reddish purple closer to a dark version of what the English call “red violet”.

The funny thing is that they started providing such an amount of love for Spectacle when Nate started publishing those blog posts, making the need for a very convenient tool for screenshot and annotations very close to people developing the software.

They explain it on their website : their internal logic for a document is based on OOXML logic, while LO is rather based on a ODT-based logic. So compatibility with Office is more straightforward in OO (though we know Microsoft is not quite exactly following the OOXML norm, so still not perfect…)
