Linux@lemmy.ml•First Linux (Ubuntu). Question on mapping drive lettersEnglish
0·2 days agoI don’t fully understand what you are trying to do? Are you using an Ubuntu machine, and want to access the nas and win11 storage in your filesystem? If so, just use either samba or sshfs. Easy to setup up and mount into the Ubuntu machine.

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•Reduced urban air pollution and mortality from the transition to new energy vehicles in ChinaEnglish
0·4 days agoI believe Chinese reports just as much as when trump or Burnham or anybody else with a motive to manipulate information and present it as fact.
If you choose to believe other countries reports as unbiased and completely genuine, then 8 feel sorry for you.

World News@lemmy.world•Electric vehicle registrations in Europe continued to rise in July, accounting for more than one in four new vehicles sold in France and GermanyEnglish
0·5 days agoIt comes down to infrastructure more than anything. I’m guessing eastern EU countries haven’t invested as heavily as western countries. From the article, it sounds like anything Italy and east has minimal EV uptake. Doesn’t matter if it’s cheaper if there is nowhere to charge, or get the car serviced.

World News@lemmy.world•Electric vehicle registrations in Europe continued to rise in July, accounting for more than one in four new vehicles sold in France and GermanyEnglish
0·6 days agoNordic and Benelux markets remained Europe’s most electrified, led by Denmark at 80.1%, followed by Finland (52.6%), the Netherlands (47.3%), Belgium (42.8%) and Sweden (42.6%).
A 30% increase year on year is nothing to be sniffed at. There is substantial growth. I agree it needs to be better and faster, but still, it’s good.

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•Reduced urban air pollution and mortality from the transition to new energy vehicles in ChinaEnglish
0·6 days agoYou could say the same of any countries reporting. I wouldn’t specifically believe a word from the us, EU or UK without actually verifying it. The fact they are reporting it though shows they believe there is some positive impact. They know somebody will check, and if it’s total bs, it will be shown to be. Interesting to read about, but I will take the numbers and impact with a pinch of salt 👍

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Streaming is just cable TV with extra steps.English
0·6 days agoI think it’s more a generalised phrase, like when you Google something, but you don’t actually use Google. Saying to look at / use pirate bay doesn’t mean the exact site, just means to pirate it somehow.
