Surprisingly, that’s not the case! Violence is the answer something like 25% of the time, nonviolence like 50% of the time, and I guess the rest of the time the answer is to sit there and take it (source: Harvard research by Erica Chenowith). I bet the stats are very different for rugby though

It also suggests you might be willing to walk away from an incompatible work situation, whether due to workplace toxicity or your own outside priorities, which can be scary to the person you’ll be reporting to.
How have these answers been working out so far?
That sounds like it probably has a lot to do with your problem! Does it happen regardless of how you drink? Straw, cup, bottle, etc.?
You’re right, but also, why did someone use AI to make this image look worse??
The original is included in this article: https://www.tomshardware.com/networking/your-washing-machine-could-be-sending-37-gb-of-data-a-day
Looking closer at the plant and random background object (door? cabinet? bulletin board?) it seems you’re probably right, well spotted :(
That’s the line they feed us, for sure. But if you ever actually added up federal income tax, state income tax, state and local sales tax, Social Security tax, property tax and assorted taxes for any instance in which you might come into additional money (capital gains, interest, prize winnings, inheritance, etc. etc. etc.) most Americans would probably be shocked to learn what real percentage of our income we actually pay to the government.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why would anyone doordash food from a place that already does delivery?
0·30 days agoI wonder what that kind of quick response from Uber ends up costing restaurants and drivers in the long run. There are fraudulent claims to consider, but even when real mistakes are made, Uber has no way of knowing whether the order was complete when it was picked up. Probably makes it hard for restaurants to troubleshoot if there’s been a real error, because they don’t know that driver, so they can assume the driver is at fault and move on. I wonder jf Uber takes the refund out of its own slice or punishes both the restaurant and the driver?
(This is in no way about you and your refund, I’m just interested in how the policy ultimately affects quality in restaurant delivery.)

0·30 days agoIsn’t that because of customers choosing to rely on third party apps instead of taking advantage of local delivery? This seems like it requires a conscious resistance on our part. If everyone keeps doordashing everything, local restaurants have no choice but to get on board, fire their drivers, and let us pay more for app delivery via underpaid gig workers.
1947 was a long time ago, so I think they consider themselves Pakistani.
And the “conservatives” are liberal as hell. The only thing they “conserve” is value for the ultra rich and some cherry-picked Biblical social order. Restrictions on capitalism? Let freedom ring.
Unfortunately that’s not an option for most people living in the US

I can’t tell if these are meant as messages or just observations
Edit: I had not considered the third possibility: shitposts
