doesn’t really look much different between the two instances. the theme differences are minor. the current default theme on piefed.world is even a bit more compact than the quokk.au default theme.

there are also user settings for more compact post listings, e.g. the variant with smaller thumbnails:

and after writing all this i realized you were referring to the bottom navigation. we updated several piefed versions in the last few days, if this is still the case for you i recommend raising this as a bug directly at https://codeberg.org/rimu/pyfedi/issues

0·2 months agothey don’t seem to be moderating at all, nor interacting with anything on the fediverse other than spamming to their own communities, likely automated. we will defed from them soon if i don’t receive a response to my pm. i’m aware of at least one other instance admin unsuccessfully attempting to reach out to them already due to lack of moderation.

0·2 months agoIn an ideal world where this could happen in a peaceful way? I wouldn’t see an issue with that.
In our current world where it seems that the only way for it to exist is one involving mass murder? Absolutely not.

https://lemmy.world/post/18470868/11713672These cases are not about murder, but death sentences following due process. While it’s not exactly the same, it’s still calling for violence, even if it’s in a more civilized and more commonly accepted way. Murder generally refers to unlawful killings.
I will take this to our team to discuss. Although I’m personally against death penalties, as I don’t believe anyone can be trusted with this power as it will absolutely get abused and mistakes will be made, I think discussion surrounding death penalties in general should be allowed, provided there is due process involved. Discussion without referencing specific cases is also not easily possible. This is something that can be difficult to define, as for example Israel also claims there to be due process for the Palestinians they execute and lawfulness can often be quickly changed in favor of the acting regime.

This is definitely a comment that could have been phrased a lot better, but I don’t see how this could even remotely be considered a call for violence.

0·2 months agoi just searched through our conversations for mentions of murder, kill, israel, zion or palest, and there is nothing relevant.
you just claimed that jordan was calling for people to be murdered, so please provide references for this.
i don’t remember everything we’ve talked about and i’m not going to read through everything again, but you clearly seem to know what you’re referring to, so that should be easy to find. i doubt that this exists in the first place, and if it does, it was likely acted on already.
i’m fully aware that there are other issues you have with jordan, but since you brought up claims of calling for murder, let’s focus on that.

0·2 months agoI’m sure you have references to us allowing people calling for others to be murdered to support your argument.
We don’t support any murder, neither murder of zionists nor murder of anyone else.

0·2 months agowe are not zionists. if you call for zionists to be murdered and then call us zionists that is a call to murder us, despite a lot of people claiming that it’s “just a harmless political slogan”. this is normalization of mass murder. we do not tolerate genocide or other murders either, which is also an accusation that a lot of people are throwing around here. accusations of zionism, mostly from dbzer0/AN users, are constantly thrown around against people that they don’t deem to be radical enough.

maybe worth to name and shame those apps with lack of proper lemmy markdown support.
and ideally check if that has already been reported to their devs, and doing that if it hasn’t been done yet.
fwiw, LW/PFW require local users to be at least 18, or, if higher, whatever their local laws define. for other instances this is of course nothing we can control.

0·3 months agoI’m not sure what exactly you’re referring to, but this issue seems to have been introduced in 0.19.16.
all content is generally owned by its creator and only the creator can change it. for lemmy 1.0 this will be changing for marking as nsfw and managing tags, so it seems that this is somewhat being relaxed.
