I’ve got 3rd to 8th gen no issues, wonder how Intel lost the plot somewhere along the way. Fortunately wifi chips still seem solid.

0·1 month agoJust to note on fiber, there’s a number of thai ingredients such as fragrant leafs that are added for smell and not to eat. Most of us eat around these but literally if you eat these add ins combined with the fantastic amount of bird beak peppers we love, you’re going to have an interesting day. Another example, the number of seeds alone that you can find in some ส้มตำ is almost comparable to a chia flax smoothie. In my opinion the number of fresh plants is not something found in many other cuisines.
Eating like this may not even be possible for every meal, best start your day with a nice fried egg with rice to recover, you know. (Drizzle with chili vinegar fish sauce to survive until your next glorious meal)
The only bare Win10 I got left has no auto network connection. It’s still surprises me that it doesn’t turn itself on in the middle of the night for updates so I see whatever I left running a month ago the last time it fell asleep. Yesterday I was trying to install device drivers on a Win11 vm and it rebooted mid install when I stopped looking for two minutes. Granted nothing broke but why do I get prompted about file explorer being opened for a user started reboot but an installer is considered killable? Such consistent design I can tell.

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL that in fiscal year 2026, the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program has admitted 6,066 South Africans, 3 Afghans and nobody elseEnglish
0·2 months agoIt didn’t get much press but the US no longer works with the UN agencies on refugees. There’s no substantial way to increase those numbers without the international community. It’s essentially a personal insult intended for anyone who would try to help someone displaced by war or violence.

I think there may also a horizontal scheme as monopolies take on a global scale. Those businesses that sell in bankruptcy due to high tech costs could be gobbled up by the biggest AI-native competition. It’s a leap but maybe in a decade your optometrist is replaced by an ai kiosk with a remote technician?
